"How Helka’s Wild Voice Broke Through her Inner Walls: The Case of Transformation.

What happens when we get so good at shutting ourselves down that we forget how to fully express who we really are? You might say we "lock ourselves in a box" — metaphorically, of course. Helka, a 26-year-old woman with a deep connection to Nature, came to me with a voice trapped in that very box: "dark and sitting in the back," she said. If that doesn't sound like a metaphor for someone who feels unseen, unheard, and repressed, I don’t know what does.

Helka’s voice wasn’t just a sound; it was the echo of her emotional and psychological barriers — the ones formed from a traumatic past. Raised by a mother who was more like “The Bear” than a nurturing presence, Helka's true self, including her wild voice, had been stifled. Our first step was using whats called The Spherical Space. Picture it like a big, invisible bubble surrounding you, where you get to explore, express, and let yourself out without the judgment of the world creeping in. It's a safe space to play, free from constraints.

Inside this bubble, I encouraged Helka to experiment with her voice in ways she hadn’t done before. We defined the space physically — how far can your voice reach? How does it feel to push your vocal boundaries? This was less about ‘getting it right’ and more about discovery. Initially, her vocal tone was delicate, almost flute-like. But it was cautious. There was a pullback, a resistance to fully let go.

Still, we knew there was more inside her — something untapped. The work wasn’t easy, but we were digging.
